Volunteering

    • Denmark has a very strong culture of volunteering and volunteer organizations. They range from sports clubs to visitor services to elderly to nature organizations. There is, indeed, something for every interest.
    • Volunteering in or joining an association can be a great way to expand your network and meet new people.
Associations

Vejle has many associations with many possibilities to volunteer. The associations cover many areas, so there should be a match for almost everyone. In Vejle, many of the volunteer associations are members of the house of associations (Foreningernes Hus). This volunteer centre offers meeting rooms and networking opportunities to the member associations, and it is a good place to look for information about associations, especially ones with a social purpose. They also communicate unpaid jobs for associations looking for volunteers.

You can visit their website or go visit their offices for a chat: Vissingsgade 31 1st floor, 7100 Vejle (follow the signing, the entrance is in the back of the building). They are open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 AM-2 PM, and Tuesday 10 AM-4 PM.

Volunteer work can also be searched for on the portal “Frivilligjob”,  where many associations post volunteer jobs.

Another place to search for the different types of associations is Kultunaut, where you can filter associations and clubs according to your topic of interest.

Sports clubs

If you are looking to join or volunteer in a sports club, there are many possibilities in Vejle. Sports activities are often organised in associations built by volunteer work, so additional help is often welcomed.

You can search between the different associations in “Fritidsportalen” (Leisure time portal).
